
At the end of the 1950s
SCA creates the embryo to what will become SSG – a department for the production of internal company standards for plant components.
1964
The Swedish Classification Centre (SKC) starts its operations within SCA.
1971
Swedish Forest Industry Standardisation Group (SSG) is constituted and its operations are separated from SCA.
1988
SSG changes its name to the Forest Industry Plant Engineering Coordinating Group, SSG.
1993
The Swedish Forest Industries Federation, the trade organisation, takes over formal ownership of SSG. At the same time the business changes name to SSG Skogsindustriernas Teknik AB.
1994
The Swedish Classification Centre (SKC) joins SSG.
1995
CD-ROM technology makes its entrance at SSG.
1998
SSG adapts its services to the web and launches its website.
2004
The company changes its name to SSG Teknik AB and ownership is shared equally by the forest industry conglomerates Billerud, Holmen, Korsnäs, M-real, SCA, Stora Enso and Södra.
2006
SSG adds a new business area: Health, Safety & Environment.
2007
The company changes name to SSG Standard Solutions Group.
