All items in the SSG Product Database are assigned to a so-called material class in the GVM registry which is used to group similar items.
The GVM material class tree provides support in a number of contexts:
- Basis for calls for tenders
- Purchasing analysis
- Database searching
The GVM registry consists of ten main classes, each of which is divided into subclasses.
