SKC numbers

Do you want to register new items in the database and obtain new SKC numbers?

Suppliers to the process industry

As a supplier you can subscribe to the database and gain access to the complete item master file via internet. This allows you to directly monitor and request updates to your own product line. Communication with SSG is managed via an online form.

Characteristic for the service are:

  • Common item numbers, known as SKC numbers, for the affiliated industries. The SKC number is associated with the item throughout its service life at the facility.
  • Quality assured, uniform descriptions of the mill’s plant items and consumables.
  • All items are categorized in a class tree, a six-level hierarchical structure.
  • Transparency which means that industries that are network members can see which other industrial units are using a given item in their plant.
  • Item data is assembled in the SSG Product Database, which contains information on more than 500,000 plant items supplied by about 8,000 vendors. The items are in use at facilities operated by the more than 30 collaborating industrial enterprises.
  • Item data is easily accessed using an internet-based search engine, SKC Online.
  • Affiliated industries as well as their suppliers can initiate the addition of items to the SSG Product Database. This also allows suppliers with the opportunity to position their products with information about, for example, new developments, substitute products etc.

If you have not purchased an online database license we can assist you in the registration of items. Use our Information Registration template and send the completed form to: klassning@ssg.se

The template is also available in Swedish.
